Description

HayTime Mechanical

Reliable feeding management without electricity. Developed for Nordic conditions, HayTime Mechanical is a fully mechanical timer that makes it easier to feed your horses in your absence.

How HayTime Mechanical works

Using the timer is very simple: you just set the desired time (0-12 h) by turning the timer handle on the bottom of the timer, then the timer will release after the set time. You can use the timer in many ways, for example to open a gate to a pasture or to release a hay net, for example.

Functions and benefits

Works without electricity: the fully mechanical machinery requires no batteries or charging, so it’s always ready to use, whatever the weather.

Easy installation: the timer can be quickly attached either with the supplied rail or, if necessary, directly with zip ties without tools.

Full serviceability: all timer parts are available separately as spare parts with clear replacement instructions.

The package includes: HayTime 12h timer and mounting rail.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
➔ What is the difference between HayTime Digital and HayTime Mechanical timers?
HayTime Mechanical is a mechanical timer that is reliable and affordable with a 12-hour maximum timing. The HayTime Digital is a digital timer that offers accurate timing to the minute and a longer maximum time.
➔ Can two mechanical timers open two different gates at the same time?
Mechanical timers are challenging to synchronise to open at exactly the same time. Each mechanical timer is unique and has a timing accuracy of +/- 5%. If you need perfect simultaneity, for example for several different horses in different locations, we recommend you choose a HayTime Digital timer, which allows you to set the release to the minute.
➔ Is HayTime Mechanical resistant to frost and humidity?
Yes. All our equipment has been tested for Nordic garage conditions. If the timer is used horizontally, it must be protected from direct water and snow.
➔ How much load can the timer withstand?
The maximum load on the timer is 3 kg.
➔ Can the timer be used horizontally?
Yes. The timer can be used horizontally, as long as it is attached to the mounting rail according to the instructions and positioned so that it is protected from direct rain and snow.
➔ What happens if, for example, a horse rushes through a timed gate?
The timer is designed with safety in mind: if it is pulled too hard and too suddenly, the mechanism is built to open automatically before major damage can occur. Please note, however, that this automatic release does not fully guarantee that the timer cannot be damaged in such a situation. However, if something does break, all parts of the timer are available separately as spare parts.
